Quick Tips: Your Kids' Digital Money Toolkit
-
Keep Logins Locked Down 🔒
- The Golden Rule: Never, ever share a username or password. Not with friends, not online, not for anything.
- Password Power-Up: Help them create a strong password that's a cool mix of letters, numbers, and symbols. And the big one: don't reuse it anywhere else!
-
Set Up Account Alerts 🔔
- Stay in the Loop: Staying on top of what's happening with their money is key.
- Easy Tracking: Use our app to set up transaction alerts, put simple spending limits in place, or even lock and unlock their card instantly. A quick peek at their account with them every week is a great habit!
-
Watch Out for Sneaky Scams 🕵️
- Know the Warning Sign: Teach them that a real financial place will never ask for their password or those special Secure Access Codes. That's a huge red flag!
- Don't Click: If they get an unexpected message or link in a text or email, tell them to be skeptical. The safest thing is always to ignore or delete it.
-
Be Smart on Social Media 🤳
- Keep it Private: Remind them that social media is public. They should never post private info like their address, account numbers, or even too many personal details.
- Beware of Free Money: Tell them to be extra cautious if someone private-messages them offering to pay them just to use their picture for "art." That's a super common, weird scam!
-
Keep the Conversation Open 💬
- Safe to Talk: Make sure they know you are their safe person. If they get a weird message, click something by mistake, or have a question, they should tell you right away with zero fear of getting in trouble.
