WKY BUILT
Western Kentucky was built by hardworking people with skilled hands, strong values, and a willingness to show up for their communities every single day. At Signet, that story is personal. Our credit union was founded by railroad workers who believed in helping one another build a better future — and that same spirit still drives us today.
That is why we created WKY Built.
WKY Built is a partnership between Signet, West Kentucky Community and Technical College, and the Associated General Contractors of Western Kentucky to honor the trades, celebrate the people behind them, and remind the next generation that success does not look the same for everyone. Through this initiative, we are partnering with local businesses, industry leaders, and educators who share the mission of supporting technical careers and keeping talent right here in Western Kentucky.
As part of that mission, we developed the Trade Excellence Scholarship — recognizing high school students for technical skill, work ethic, leadership, and heart, not just GPA. Because the students learning to weld, wire, build, repair, and create are helping shape the future of our communities.
